Return to the index page

When you log into JT, it says: "Information - You have been successfully logged in." Then a link: "Return to the index page."

This extra step annoys me no end. There's no need to remove us from the index page to begin with. Other forums don't do this--you log in and boom, there you are on the index page ready to go.

Is there any way you can wave a magic wand and remove this step?

Well goddamn, so it does. I had always clicked the link before that happened.

But it means you have to wait TWO SECONDS! An outrage.

The same phenomenon---a navigation choice followed by a redirect to the default destination after TWO SECONDS---occurs in the "post" section, the "edit post" section, and probably elsewhere. "That’s not a bug, it’s a feature." [punctuation sic, Tom Image ]
