Re: Traffic

I check in a couple of times during the day. The damned site still keeps forgetting my name and passqword and I have to go through the log in over and over again and I tell it to remember.

Very irritating.

Re: Food For Thought

To deal with my grouchiness, I'm whipping up some risotto with lamb, mushrooms, shallots And Thai basil. A small salad with gold heirloom tomatoes accompanied by my friend Johnny Black. I braised the lamb in some stock and will use that for the risotto.

I'll probably still be grouchy, but well fed.

We watched the old flick "Laura" last night. The flick doesn't really hold together, but the song was one of the best.

Helluva game last night. I think the Dodgers used about eleventeen pitchers. I don't expect them to last through the first series.

I expect to see the Orioles and Nats in the W.S.

But ya never know. . .

We are lucky to have three small family Itralian restaurants withing 10 minutes. Our favorite is Genovese which has never served us anything we didn't love. It's your basic red sauce place, very Napolitano, even though the name makes your think North. When you walk into the place, you are transporte...

I am physically limited for travel. I don't even go much to L.A. except when my son comes out here and plays. I listen to Sirius/Xm Real Jazz channel which is pretty much straight ahead. I have cds in my car which I play during driving , which is not very far. Right now the cds are The Mingus big ba...

Tom, That's quite an undertaking. I'm sure those here could recommend recording of the major players of each era. You mentioned singers and it may be a good method to let the audience hear samples, of Satch, Bessie Smith, Jimmy Rushing, Billie Holiday, Connie Boswell, June Christy, Anita O'Day, Ella...

Mistake alert. The intro to Yard Dog Mazurka was stolen by Kenton in Intermission Riff. Gerald was in the trumpet chair along with Snooky Young in the Lunceford band.

I've been overindulging on tomatoes for the last several weeks because I know that soon I will not be able to find a tomato that's worth shit until late next year. The only downside to having access to so many delicious garden fresh tomatoes is that I can't use them up fast enough. Joanne has been ...
