So, Like…I Just Got Married!

Been a bit busy lately and haven't taken the time to let folks here know what's up. But almost two years ago, when neither of us were looking, Denise Carla Rosenfeld and I found each other and fell in love. We just had a glorious wedding down here in San Miguel de Allende, surrounded by over 180 fri...

Re: Don Grusin, Iraida Noriega and Doug Robinson

Mission accomplished, sold out 400 seats, raised a huge heap of money for a great charity, music played at a very high-level with tons of heart and soul and swing and fun. I couldn't be a whole lot happier. Expect some video clips to follow.

A Little Video Clip from Saturday's Benefit Concert — Doug Robinson

this was at the house of a cool artist who has been profiled in the NYTimes and elsewhere. It's my group The SpyBoyz, kind of New Orleans-flavored blues. I like my solo pretty much--love the axes though (Hammond SK1 organ and Casio PX5s electric piano, through my revolutionary Space Station V3 amp)....

Any Gigging Keyboard Players interested in talking About Gear?

It's been a real breakthrough couple of years for me but I don't need to start a thread unless someone is interested. :)

Re: Doug Robinson: Alone/Together

A Cool Video from my Concert Two Nights Ago not the official video but something shot by my future father-in-law from the front row. It's 10 minutes, and you'll hear the end of Ken Basman and I playing "alone together" in 7/4 then launching into "turkey in the straw " then a lit...

Yes, I can see how many wouldn't dig Birdman but it was my favorite of the year for certain. Holds up after the second viewing as well.

Re: Phil Woods announces his retirement

A poignant story indeed. What a career. Parts of The Rights of Swing still just knock me out. If you want to hear some never-before heard Phil Woods, go to Frankrehak.com and click on 'music' then scroll down to these tracks: Sweet Georgia Brown, with Frank and Phil playing beautifully and accompani...
