Re: Branding Rollhead
I stopped being Rollhead because I got the impression that I'd just pissed too many people off.

Branding Rollhead
I now realize that my big mistake was not branding Rollhead. I could have had a closet full of Nikes and a drawer full of Rolexes if I'd done that.

No. He's got a great serve, too. Not sure if he's got a weak shot. I understand his inconsistency is his biggest problem.

The best backhand won the Australian Open. Wawrinka has a one-handed backhand that goes off like a cannon. The only guy who might have a better one is Gasquet , who can hit a backhand at over 100mph

75 pounds down ...
After nearly five years of effort, I am down @75lbs. I went from @260 to around 185. I was down to 175 in the fall, but I had lost muscle mass and strength. I've put back on about 10lbs, and at least some of that is muscle (from lifting weights). The last several months I've heard: "Are you oka...

Sounds like Walto and Steve(thelil) have the $$ issue under control.
Since one is a state worker and the other is a retired state worker, I am very happy to know that tax dollars will be put to good use.

I would have posted more, but the site is blocked at work (where I do 99% of my posting). I'm only doing this on my cellphone (a pain in the ass). I'll try to do better if the site survives.

Re: Let us deify Sonny Rollins
So, Claude... did Rollins change his mouthpiece after those Saxophone Colossus years?
I like Rollins' tone much better than most sax players -- but my favorite, in terms of tone, has to be Ben Webster.
And, as far as improvisation goes, nobody beats Rollins.

Chris Anderson
Never knew about Chris Anderson, until I heard Barry Harris talking about him in a masterclass.
Been pretty much listening to him non-stop for the past couple of weeks.

Read Jeff Guinn's biography of Charles Manson, and I am now in the middle of Walter Isaacson's biography of Steve Jobs. Struck with the similarities of Manson and Jobs. Both were leaders of cults and were expert at manipulation and abuse. The main difference was that if Manson didn't get what he wan...

Re: We're an older crowd here I do believe
Do you still practice tenor sax? I remember you taking it up a few years back. Or am I "misremembering"? I haven't practiced sax in a few years. My wife made me take it out to the barn, which made it impossible to practice in the winter. I worked on rhythms and counting on a drum pad for ...
