Re: SOMETHING ELSE! Hamilton, Ontario, Canada | June 16-21,
Thank you, Ron. Sometimes I do wish that I could afford a graphics person and a publicist. Those tasks take me forever and I'm never fully satisfied with the results, always think that I could do more. I'm just glad that the whole thing is happening where we live. Feeling more at home here already.

Re: SOMETHING ELSE! Hamilton, Ontario, Canada | June 16-21,
Very nice night Monday… both bands sounded great! I'm happy with a half-full room (capacity 100 or so). Good audience. Standing O, not the obligatory kind. To be clear, I'm doing this pretty much knowing that it will be a financial loss. Just wanting to keep the loss to a minimum. Without this test,...

Re: SOMETHING ELSE! Hamilton, Ontario, Canada | June 16-21,
If I can sort of do it, anyone can. No experience necessary. You have to have $, access to funding/sponsorship, be well organized, well-connected, be slightly insane. You need at least two of those to succeed. I'm coasting on the last one alone, really… So, I'm certain you can pull it off. Key thin...

Re: SOMETHING ELSE! Hamilton, Ontario, Canada | June 16-21,
Congrats on pulling this together Cem. I've often thought that I would love to do something like this down where I am, but it seems so daunting since I have no background in music promotion, or much else to do with music for that matter. Thank you! If I can sort of do it, anyone can. No experience ...

Re: SOMETHING ELSE! Hamilton, Ontario, Canada | June 16-21,
Here we go… it's this week! If you're near, come on out! Here are some articles and so on showcasing the midlife crisis I've been having since I was a teenager. ;) Little talk about the music, sadly... Re: Happy Mardi Gras!
Rita, Iko/Aiko is a great song!
I'm most familiar with the Dead's version, of course.
I was surprised to find out that "set your tail on fire" ("set your flag on fire" by Dixie Cups) actually has a nasty meaning.

Re: Outstanding piano trios
Some great ones mentioned... the above Bley-Peacock-Motian trio is the one I wanted to see more than any other.. best I've seen live was Crispell-Guy-Hemingway Yes to all, I was fortunate enough to hear them live, as well, in early to mid-90s… and I would add Anderson/Crispell/Drake, but lack of a b...

Hello, folks!
Something different about this medium... more importantly the people, I guess. I'm friends with many JC'ers on fb, but lack of constraints (?) make that experience less rewarding in some ways, maybe.

Re: Trivial Annoyances
Does anyone know that "i.e." doesn't mean "e.g."? Anyone at all? (Not here, I mean, but in the world at large.) Oh, how I've missed your ways, Rita… that's Rita A.R.Ways! How've you been? Hoping all's well... Have you got "Kugel" off the ground, yet?

Hey, JC'ers… I guess, never is a long time!
Not sure why, but finally I registered here before the supposedly pending apocalypse.
I must've missed you all a bit. Hoping everyone is reasonably well and still enjoying music.
